Birthday cake and Marine cake

A birthday cake I made for My friend Thaos b-day, teh bottom is chocolate cake and the top is half strawberry, half white cake per request. This was also my first attempt at teh whole 3-d wire decor. :) The second cake is a marine cake that a friend asked me to make for their son who was leaving for the Marines. Two layer chocolate 12" bottom with chocolate icing and two layer choclate 10" top. Hand painted gold with edible godl paint. This was my biggest cake yet, so ofcourse it was a bit of trial and error...but now i know! :)

This is a Marine cake I made for my boyfriends good friend Jerry. Hes a marine and very proud of it so we thought this would be a great idea. :) Its a two layer 6" choclate cake with chocolate icing. Covered in black Satin Ice fondant (vanilla flavored). I used everclear to mix with the gold dust to make a golden paint (highly reccomended).

Cherry checkered cake

This is a special request from my co worker Neil. He wanted a cake that had something to do with cherries, (his girlfriend loves them) so this is what i came up with, i feel my design is very origional and i am quite happy with it. :) now the red hands......well i forgot to buy red fondant so i had to make the gumpaste for the cherries red...yep, my hands are still kinda red (2 days later) lol
This cake is a double layer choclate fudge with buttercream icing. I used a 3 inch deep 8 inch round pan.
Autobot cake

Autobot success!!! My friend Vy asked me to make one for her boyfriend for his bday. i think i did pretty well! :) I baked a one layer choclate cake and froze it, cut the face shape out with a Cutco butcher knife and coincidentally, i found a transformers icing color kit while i was buying cake boards. sweet.
